Open Water Diver


   

Open Water Diver is the entry-level to becoming a certified diver. This is a beginner course designed to provide students with the essential skills and Knowledge to be a safe and confident diver. You will be taught how to use dive equipment, responsible diving practices and conduct multiple dives to put it all into practice.

Courses are conducted in 3 stages, consisting of Knowledge Development (theory assessment), Confined water dives (to learn the basics in water) and Open water dives (further development of diving skills). Completion of Discover Scuba – Try Scuba – Resort Scuba may be credited towards certification of ‘Open Water Diver’ offered courses.

‘Open Water Diver’ courses are provided by:

British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC)

IANTD: International Association Nitrox and Technical Divers

Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI)

Scuba Schools International (SSI)

Scottish Sub Aqua Club (ScotSAC)

The next step for divers is Advanced Diver – Adventure Diver offering Specialty Courses such as Deep Diving, Wreck Diving and Night Diving.
